Blog # 3: Part 2: Reflection

Reflection Blog:

Question: How are you feeling so far about the pace of this course? How are you feeling after the completion of Blog Post #3? Any questions?

I think the pace of this course is pretty good. I think that there is a lot being asked of us at once in some cases but it is all with good reason. A lot of the material we cover is needed in order to effectively use technology in the classroom. After completing blog #3, I must say I was surprised with the mini-art school assignments. They were enjoyable but quite a lot of work. Thinking and analyzing from a design perspective is something unexpected in education courses but it was refreshing to do. I can see the importance of an activity like blog #3 especially when we will be trying to reach our students in a similar fashion during our own teaching. I think I am a little confused on the MMP project because I am not exactly sure what to do for that project. It is a little confusing. The MDMC project is a little confusing as well. My questions for that include:

For the MDMC project:

1. Are we creating 3 separate videos 5 minutes each? Or can we do one video at 15 minutes each? Or is one video 5 minutes for all 3 pieces of technology?

2. In some cases, the software isn't clearly advertised as a "educational software" should we indicate how we as educators would use it or do we reference the actual website for information?

3. Is this piece strictly our opinion based on the rubric and questions or is backed by our readings from the course and do we have to quote the readings in the videos?

For the MMP:

1. Should we be members of a Google + and the two other ones from the community website or are we just participating in those 2 community websites?

2.  For this part  "collecting data on your target audience so that you can gather more information on their needs. You might do this through informal conversations, or you might even want to directly reach out to your audience in order to obtain more specific information." of the project  do I actually need to reach out to K-12 students to develop the project?

3. Does this project need to be submitted in the standard GSE lesson/unit plan format or is this a document of our own design?

Thank you so much!
